It was quite a struggle to be a woman in an area that I had thought of as being very masculine. The notion that I can be feminine, strong, and soft and be able to take care of myself but not diminish myself was difficult for me. It was quite pleasure to walk around in heels wearing a dress, with soft fabrics and curls every day. This was extremely stressful as I'm a lot younger than others in Fantastic Beasts]; there is plenty of pressure. This was quite a shock, but I felt like a force was pushing my up. I could either to get crushed under it or fall apart due to how much I wanted to play this character and the size of it. You could spend hours walking around taking in coffee shops, museums and parks. London is a city where there are people everywhere. In LA it's not always a crowded however, you're right in the middle of all that. I enjoy watching other people. Coming from the world of music, I'm constantly surrounded by men. The feeling of working with guys is intimate. It's a surreal, wild nightmarish. I've read all of the books in the collection. I've read a few of the books on tour, actually, and it's really lovely to have that sort of universe that one can retreat to as on the road, you're moving from city to city but it's also extremely disorienting. And then to go to this vivid and inspiring world in my bunk at night is truly a dream. Alison Alison Alison
